Current Status of the K2k Long-baseline Neutrino-oscillation Experiment
نویسنده
چکیده
The K2K (KEK to Kamioka) long-baseline neutrino-oscillation experiment was successfully started in early 1999. A total intensity of 7.20 × 10 protons on target, which is about 7% of the goal of the experiment, was accumulated in 39.4 days of data-taking in 1999. We obtained 3 neutrino events in the fiducial volume of the Super-Kamiokande detector, whereas the expectation based on observations in the front detectors is 12.3 −1.9 . An analysis of oscillation searches from the view points of absolute event numbers, distortion of neutrino energy spectrum, and νe/νμ ratio is in progress.

متن کاملStatus of neutrino oscillations I: the three-neutrino scenario
We present a global analysis of neutrino oscillation data within the threeneutrino oscillation scheme, including in our fit all the current solar neutrino data, the reactor neutrino data from KamLAND and CHOOZ, the atmospheric neutrino data from Super-Kamiokande and MACRO, and the first data from the K2K long-baseline accelerator experiment. We determine the current best fit values and allowed ...

متن کاملThe Results of Oscillation Analysis in K2k Experiment and an Overview of Jhf-ν Experiment
This paper presents the results of oscillation analysis in K2K experiment. The results show indications of neutrino oscillation and give a new constraint on the oscillation parameters. The difference of neutrino masses squared ∆m lies between 1.5 and 3.9×10 eV at sin 2θ = 1 with the confidence level of 90%. In addition to these results, a brief overview of future long-baseline neutrino experime...
